Yesterday we had a visit from the great grandson of Percival Peach, one of the eight Stapenhill men we have remembered with our poppy memorial. Richard Gore, and his wife pearl, travelled from Canada to see the dedication to his great grandfather. He also showed us a picture of the bronze memorial plaque which was given to the family of every man who was killed.

He said to us “You have done a wonderful job to commemorate Stapenhill’s war dead from The Great War. I hope it gives the students in your school something to think about each Rememberance Day and help to put faces to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.”
