Year 7 and 8 students visited the University of Birmingham where they had the opportunity to spend time exploring uni life, meet students and lecturers and have an amazing tour of the campus.
The year 7 students were given a numeracy session whilst the year 8 students had a session on chemistry. We found out that the main university building was built in 1901 and that it was home to the world tallest stand alone clock. One of the student ambassadors told us that if you go under the clock and the bells chime you would end up failing your degree – she confirmed it’s a myth that people believe in.

The students learnt a lot and many now aspire to go to university.
