imageimageimageimageimageimageimageA selection of Year 8 Art students had a fantastic opportunity to work with a professional photographer at a new St Modwen’s housing development, to capture images addressing the theme of ‘Making Places’.

St. Modwen, the UK’s leading regeneration specialist, is celebrating its 30th anniversary during 2016. To mark this milestone, the Company is inviting students from 30 schools across England & Wales to take part in ‘Making Places’: a national schools photography competition. The competition is asking students to capture the theme of ‘place making’ through the medium of photography. In doing so, exploring what community, architecture or urban design means to them.

The students took part in a workshop with the photographer Stephen Burke who has his work published in the Financial Times and Telegraph.
The students now have the difficult job of choosing the best photograph to enter into the competition, with the chance to have their work displayed in a London Gallery, as well as winning a top of the range camera.

We will find out in September if any of our students entries have been successful.
