20 Paulet students had an amazing opportunity to visit Oxford University on Wednesday 18th January 2017. Our students spent time exploring uni life, meeting students, having a tour of Somerville College and experiencing lectures at the department of Computer Science.
The day began when we met Elsa who spoke about the structure of Oxford and Cambridge Universities. We learnt about how we can apply and many of the students’ misconceptions were clarified.
We then met a student ambassador who took us around Somerville College culminating in a ‘question and answer’ session over lunch.
Our day finished by experiencing two lecturers at the department of computer science. We learnt about the processes of making and building programs. Dr Nurse did an awesome, exciting and engaging lecture about Human Computer Interaction (HCI). We learnt how systems are developed to allow the user to interact with various devices and wearable technology.
