Our Y12 mentors and Y8 mentees had a memorable day at the 19th Century, Grade II listed mansion house – Keele Hall.

We had a warm welcome from Adam Smith of Higher Horizons and tour of Keele Hall, where 3 of our students were given special squirrels upon finding the secret doors at Keele Hall.

Dr Michael Fay from the Keele School of Law gave us a humorous, engaging and fun session on Morality and Murder. Mr McArthur and Mr Ashraf thoroughly enjoyed the session too! We received an email from Dr Michael Fay “I thought that was a great group of students today, really enjoyed it”.

The confident and funny student ambassador (Lucy) from Staffordshire University was amazing as she gave us all an insight of student life and some words of wisdom. Followed by a talk on further education and higher education by Helen Norman of Higher Horizons+.

We were then mysteriously asked to leave ‘The Old Library’ where we were based and waited in ‘The Great Hall’. We were then asked to come back and when we did, we were welcomed in by some music and a warm welcome. Students were called one by one to the stage to receive their certificate of recognition and got a proud hand shake from our headteacher Mr McArthur.

It was a memorable day!
