On 5th July the NHS turns 70!  This is an occasion not to be missed as the NHS has been, and continues to be, such an important influence on all of our lives. On this special day I am planning to hold a ‘NHS 70th Birthday’ where we will have a number of activities:

  •  The day will be a ‘NHS Blue’ day where we will all pay £1 to wear something blue
  • Our lessons will be NHS themed for instance the history of the NHS; the science behind many of its medical advancements and the variety of languages spoken by our NHS colleagues
  • We will run a house based tea party where staff and students will be encouraged to bake, sell and eat cake (and drink tea) in the name of the NHS
  • We will create a NHS 70 aerial photograph using all of our students and send a framed copy to Burton Hospital as a gift from Paulet

I hope you’ll agree that this will be a very worthwhile day and, most importantly, our students will be encouraged to think about all the good done by our NHS.  Money raised will be donated to Burton Hospital’s Snowdrop Suite which is used by bereaved parents during their most difficult times.

So, in readiness, please find something blue for your child to wear and get baking!

Thank you for your ongoing support
