Murder, Mystery and Books: World Book Day 2026!

Yesterday at Paulet High School we celebrated World Book Day with a mystery theme. Students were invited to wear blue to represent knowledge and a love of learning, while others arrived ready to investigate in their best detective-inspired outfits, setting the scene perfectly for a day of literary sleuthing.

Our KS3 sleuths tackled a thrilling WhoDunnit murder mystery lesson, analysing clues from the “crime scene” in the library and questioning the suspects. After plenty of investigating, many detectives were confident they had solved the case… with Miss Baker named as the prime suspect!

The library was also full of bookish discoveries with our Blind Date with a Book (no judging by the cover!) and a Book Swap, helping students uncover some great new reads.

To top it all off, our Book Club bake sale was a sweet success, raising over £100 to support reading activities in school.

A fantastic day of mystery, reading and brilliant detective work from our students. Case closed!
