Think Twice – E-scooters
As most people are aware, the use of e-scooters is not legal on public land and roads. As the Christmas shopping period becomes very busy, please do not purchase e-scooters for your children. They can only be used legally on private land.
The use of e-scooters is often raised in public meetings, and members of the public frequently approach officers to raise their concerns. E-scooters cause risk, harm and possible injury to riders and other road users. If seen by officers, they will be seized and destroyed or parts recycled.
Make Christmas a safer one for our children and do not purchase e-scooters as a Christmas gift. In our neighbouring force, over 600 e-scooters have been seized after being ridden illegally on public paths and roads. Staffordshire Police will also continue to take the same approach.
Thank you.
