You will explore four core units designed to give you a complete technical and strategic overview of the IT sector:  

  • Unit 1: Information Technology Systems – Investigate the hardware and software foundations that make up modern IT systems, alongside data transmission and security
  • Unit 2: Cyber Security and Incident Management – Uncover cyber threats and system vulnerabilities while mastering the protective measures and forensic procedures used to combat attacks
  • Unit 3: Website Development – Learn the core principles of web design, asset management andcoding languages to build and test a live website
  • Unit 4: Relational Database Development – Master data normalization, structural design anddatabase management systems to build efficient data storage solutions

Unit 3 (Internal Assessment)
A Pearson Set Assignment Brief where you research, design and develop a website for a client.
13 Dive deep into the high stakes world of cyber security, exploring threat landscapes, defensive architecture and forensic incident investigation. Move into database engineering, learning how to structure data, map entities and build relational databases. Unit 2 (External Assessment)
A 2 hour 15 minute written examination set and marked by Pearson 

Unit 4 (Internal Assessment)
A Pearson Set Assignment Brief involving practical database design, development and testing.
